The next day, we continue our journey by experiencing one of the busiest and brightest shopping street in Tokyo! We were all so excited to come here because there were so many things we want to buy ๐
Takeshita Street is the teenage culture for a focal point of Harajuku and its side streets, which are lined by many trendy stores from incredibly creative socks, to the variety designs of T-shirts, and the oddest collection of shoes in town where you can browse for a very long time.
Takeshita Street is also known as Takeshita Dori and it is a broad, tree lined avenue which referred as Tokyo’s Champs-Elysees.

Fun fact: the entrance decoration changes every season. |
We thought that we had already finished looking up every stores but on every corner, there is a new shop we never saw! And this thing goes on and on until we can't catch our breath hahaha.
How do we get here?
It takes about 50 minutes from Tokyo Disneyland Resort. To be there, all of us need is to use train which is the nearest station is Harajuku Stations and it only cost us 140 yen. To be frank, the view is immaculate. Japan has always a place in our heart regarding their architecture. It is a beautiful mix of both modern and traditional.
It was extremely busy and crowded as we arrived on the weekends. There are so many new and oddest collections along the street which really amazed us as it was our first time looking at the weird and classy fashion. All the brands are not quite knock-off but not quite brand-name either.
Best shops that we visit?
The most exciting shopping place here is Daiso with a 4-storied building. All items are only ¥100 (RM3.77), which is cheaper than items sold in Daiso Malaysia which are around RM5.

Besides that, you do not have to worry because it is pretty easy to find Halal food. We have tried a bit of food such as crepes, which is a significant snack of the street and over 100 different flavors are sold here. You can also add your own topping.

Totti candy factory is a must place for you to visit on this street. The gigantic cotton candy can give you a sweet taste that you had never imagined. When we arrived here, we were shocked to see the amount of vibrant colors these candies have. We then end up sharing a huge cotton candy with all six of us.

For an undeniably Japanese experience, we checked out the Purikura photo booths where we snap, customize and decorate pictures before they are printed on the spot. A photograph from the elevated entrance to Takeshita Dori near the station is a must for the album.

After that, we went to Cat Cafรฉ Mocha where we can enjoy our meals while being accompanied by cute fluffy cats ๐บThe cat cafรฉ is a must visit for us as we are all cat lovers!! The cats are all so friendly and sweet to us. At first, we thought that it would be only cats as the animals there but no! They also have cute adorable owls that like pets.
Travel guide for people who want to visit:
- Take care of your belongings as there are many people there and the huge crowds are always expected.
- Spare extra money as you will never have enough items to buy ๐
- Wear something comfortable as you will get sweaty (except if its winter season)
Next place we want to visit?
Tomorrow morning, we will head over to Tashirojima island! Also known as the cat island ๐
What was it like for us?
Personally, we really had fun shopping here. We bought so many items and souvenirs for our families back in Malaysia.
Our legs become so sore after walking for hours exploring this place, but it was an indeed fun experience. We even need to stop for a few times just to catch a breath! Haha.
Other than that, we saw so many fashion streets that are unique as they have their own style. The people there sometimes cosplay as maids or any other interesting costumes. We admit we were shocked seeing how creative some Japanese teens are.
